Courses

I offer a 5-night, 4-day course from Sunday through to Friday, featuring weaving or colour courses.

Whatever your level of weaving experience – whether total beginner, or already a weaver and wanting to learn a specific technique – I will make a course tailored to you around your abilities and desires.  Just email me stacey@theloomroom.co.uk or theloomroomfrance@gmail.com to discuss what you want to do.

The colour course is a non-weaving course exploring how colour works in textiles and is aimed at building up confidence with colour through exercises and some colour theory, looking at nature, art and architecture for examples.

Incorporated into your course are two half-day excursions in the area, visiting selected places of interest and experiencing the food and drink of the Gascon region.

Suggested Itinerary (subject to discussion and revision):

Sunday :  arrive in the afternoon, settle in and join us for an evening meal accompanied with local wines, looking over the Val d’Albret, chatting and watching the sun set over the hills.

Monday :
Full day weaving tuition, with new weavers planning and preparing your first warp, experienced weavers making their warps, and colour students selecting images and isolating colours. Evening – free/social time.
