2019 Mini Taster Break €495 pp (€325 for non-weaving partner)
Set among the rolling hills and vinyards of Gascony, south-west France, surrounded by picturesque villages and bustling markets, your get-away weaving weekend begins with a sociable, relaxing Friday evening sampling local wines with your meal in the company of Stacey and Graham after being personally chauffeured from the railway station at Agen.
You will wake up to fresh home-made bread and warm croissants, home-made jams and marmalade, with tea or coffee before heading off to the lively Saturday market in Nérac where you can enjoy the ambiance of market day in our beautiful and historic town. You could choose to have a relaxing picnic in the park, selecting the ingredients (local cheeses, charcuterie, wine, bread, salad) fresh from the market, or you could take a light lunch at one of Nérac’s atmospheric restaurants or riverside cafés, watching the world go by. The choice is yours. There is also time to visit one of the charming villages close to Nérac – each has its own character – before heading back to the studio where you will be able to begin weaving your first piece of cloth before ending the day with a home-cooked meal accompanied by local wines – and there are plenty of them!
Sunday is devoted to weaving * after a leisurely breakfast, and by the end of the day you will have completed a table runner or mat to take home with you. Sunday evening is dedicated to conviviality with a celebratory evening menu. *for the weavers. Your non-weaving partner has the opportunity to go out and about with Graham, or independently if you have your own transport.
After a typical French breakfast, on Monday morning you will be driven to Agen station for your journey home taking with you a physical reminder of a magical weekend break – and maybe a new hobby!
