The Loom Room is On the Move!!
We are delighted to announce that we have a beautiful new centre for The Loom Room, near Nérac, in the south-west of France.
During 2016, we shall be renovating and adapting La Tuilerie into
a teaching studio equipped with 4 & 8-shaft table looms
an 'atelier' (workshop), where visitors will be able to see and learn about jacquard and dobby looms, and interact with different kinds of simple looms from tapestry and rigid heddle (also known as 'knitters' ) looms, card (tablet) weaving, and 4-shaft looms
a small shop where you can browse and purchase hand-woven cards, bookmarks, scarves and shawls, cushions and table linen, and my own artwork, as well as limited yarns and weaving accessories.
We shall be offering residential weaving courses from 2017 (we want to get the facilities just right first!).
In the meantime, I shall keep you updated as to progress through my blog and newsletters, and occasional postings on FaceBook (www.facebook.com/TheLoomRoom) and on Twitter (@StaceyHarveyBro).
We are developing a brand new website (which will also include information on my husband Graham's micro-brewery!) during the course of this year ready for the resumption of business in 2017.
There is still plenty here for you to browse, both for weaving and, in the Location section, on the vicinity of our new home. Please do not hesitate to contact me at email@example.com if you have any questions or comments.
In the meantime, I have launched a 9-part series introducing you to dimensional texture in weaving. If you are interested in this, please sign up for my newsletter by clicking on the button further down the page, or completing the pop-up sign-up box on this page, and you will be sent an automatic confirmation email containing a link which you need to click to go through to the confirmation stage. This double sign-up method is to prevent automatic trawlers clogging up the system!
If you are a student and researching for a project, you'll find lots of information about weaving here.
If you are wanting to see what's involved in weaving, you can access a series of short videos here.

"I'd just like to say a massive big Thank You to Stacey. I've really enjoyed the weekend course and I'm very inspired and can't wait to get my own loom, as I now know how to put the warp on. Excellent teaching and great tips. I'm really excited and love the sample piece I've made. My eye's are opened to the many wonderful things I'll be able to achieve! Thanks again... I highly recommend this course for anyone wanting to learn about weaving or expand what they already know!" Ellen Coote, Spring 2012
