My current work covers a variety of approaches. From simple Seascape pictures created through using yarn-wrapping techniques, to the complexities of jacquard pieces which will gradually come on-line as I develop it, I like to create pieces that speak to my soul as well as my weaving brain!  At the moment, I am showing just the Seascape range and the one-off artwork range I call Fusion.  

I am developing a series of pieces woven on both the jacquard loom and the multi-shaft loom. This range is called Earthscape and is based on satellite and aerial images.  This research is an ongoing process and I cannot publish work on my website until it has been shown in exhibitions or published in hard copy as showing it on my website would preclude it from being seen elsewhere.  So please bear with me....

Fusion

Fusion is the combining of watercolour and textural weaving.  Each piece is created through developing a weave structure that captures the essence of what I want the piece to be about, then dyeing it and adding other media to enhance it, and then creating a sky through watercolour that captures the mood of the whole scene.

Fusion is about the sea, the sky and sometimes, the land.

Seascape

Seascape is about capturing a mood between sea and sky inspired by the British coast.  These yarn-wrap pieces capture the inifinite variations of sea and sky during sunsets, brewing storms, tranquil days.  They aim to be contemplative pieces that you can gaze at quietly, whilst your mind unwinds from the stresses of your day. 

Each of them is hand-framed in a soft-white stained wooden frame to fit in with your house and decor, whether modern or old, contemporary or traditional.

Exhibition and Gallery Pieces

I am developing work specifically for larger exhibition and gallery spaces based on satellite and aerial impressions of uninhabited areas of the Earth. 

Earthscape
I'm very interested in nature's erosion on nature.  At the moment, this work is in experimental stage, but I hope to have some images on Earthscape to add to the website later.
